The UK has confirmed that they will not be supporting World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank loans that would benefit Argentine government. UK Secretary of State for International Development Justine Greening stated that due to constant attacks from the Argentine government regarding the ownership of the Falkland Islands and the UK’s position as a major shareholder in the WB and the IADB, the could no longer support continued loans to Argentina.
